Rudas Bath/Gellert Hill view
Rudas Bath is the oldest traditional thermal bath in the city, which has been operating since 1520. The spa is located a few steps from the rocks of Gellért Hill. The Turkish bath was built during the Turkish occupation of the country, while the spa was built in the 19th century. It was developed at the end of the 19th century. / Gellért Hill, as the jewel of Budapest, stands out from the view of Buda at a height of 235 meters. The Citadel from the top of the mountain offers a wonderful panorama. It has been a World Heritage Site since 1987. Its iconic points include the St. John’s Cave, which hides St. Gellert’s Rock Church. Gellért Hill is one of the most popular tourist destinations.
Royal Garden
Built between 1875 and 1883 according to the plans of Miklós Ybl, the Neo-Renaissance Castle Bazaar is a World Heritage Site, but since 1996 it is one of the 100 most endangered monuments in the world. The Buda Youth Park was severely damaged during the Second World War, until its closure in 1984. It stood unused for nearly thirty years. The building complex was renovated in 2014.
Tunnel/Chain Bridge
The Chain Bridge is one of the world-famous symbols of Budapest and Hungary. The first permanent bridge between Pest and Buda, as well as the first bridge over the Danube. It was built between 1839 and 1849 and got its full name from István Széchenyi, one of the main sponsors. The idea of a tunnel running through the Castle Hill came about at the same time as the construction of the Chain Bridge began. The total length of the tunnel is 340 meters. Until 1918, it had to be paid for its use, like the bridge.
House of Parliament/Panorama of Buda
Designed by Imre Steindl in neo-Gothic style. Today, it is the largest building in the country and the second largest parliamentary building in Europe. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
